Ugo Bertotti was born in Trento in 1954. When he was about five years old he drew a picture of a crow, and everybody said wow, did you copy that? What do you mean, copy it?! He stuck to his guns and twenty years later graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. In the meantime he learned the rudiments of illustration and animation in the mythical studio Ink. He worked for various magazines, started to draw comic strips and published them in Italy and France. He moved to Cesena, in Italy's Romagna region, and settled there. For about twenty five years now he has been working as a graphic artist in illustration and animation.
